We’re thrilled to announce the signing of jazz and pop singer-songwriter Subhi. Originally from India and currently based in the United States Subhi sings and writes in both Hindi and English. Subhi creates an emotional sound that blends contemporary jazz and indie pop with the intimate world of poetry.
Original sound and great storytelling in her tracks were highly appreciated by Chicago’s musical scene and music professionals in India. Her debut album Shaitaan Dil was co-presented by The Jazz Institute of Chicago and several of her singles have been premiered on Rolling Stone India, Vh1 India and Spotify’s editorial playlists.
Last year, Subhi was nominated as ‘Best Asian Entertainer 2019’ by the Chicago Music Awards and her musical journey on the Emmy award-winning show Asian Influences was showcased by ABC Chicago!
Subhi is currently working on her English EP that will be released in Febuary 2021. Her latest single released in November 2020 called “Wake Me Up” fully written in English blends pop with darker, electronic sound and represents the new style of her upcoming EP. ‘Wake Me Up” entered the semi-final round for the Unsigned Only 2020 Competition in USA.
Subhi said of the signing: “I am very excited about being a part of the Anara Publishing family. It’s been great getting to know the team. As soon as I joined I was part of Anara’s sync camp with a couple of other artists on their roster and it was a lot of fun. It’s been a wonderful experience and I am looking forward to growing as an artist and achieving new milestones working with Anara Publishing.”
