Anara Publishing and Horus Music India are delighted to present the first of our Facebook Live events on Monday 26th May 2017 entitled “Demystifying Copyright and Music Publishing”.

Anara Publishing Director, Deborah Smith, will be in conversation with PRS for Music’s Jataneel Banerjee during the event and viewers will have the opportunity to join the conversation and have their questions answered live on air. The world of music publishing and copyright can be a minefield at times to navigate through as an artist or songwriter. We will be going back to the basics of publishing in this webinar to dispel many of the common misconceptions around the world of publishing and copyright.

This event promises to explore all of the important topics in order for musicians to understand including:

  • What rights are within their compositions,
  • How to maximise opportunities within the realm of music publishing,
  • What is a collection society?
  • Basics of copyright and how to determine the ownership of copyright,
  • Neighbouring rights,
  • How the internet / DSPs affects the flow of income from copyrights,
  • Differences between the Indian market and the rest of the world,
  • What revenue is available for their work.

By understanding these topics, you will be better equipped to navigate your own music career and avoid common mistakes and pitfalls.

We are thrilled to have such an industry expert joining us for this event and it is a must watch for artists, producers, songwriters, composers and anyone who would like to learn more about music publishing.
