Luke Elgie is Newcastle based bassist/composer/producer. His musical journey started with alt pop band “Shields”, touring the UK and Europe supporting bands such as Everything Everything, Placebo and Walk the Moon, and playing festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and Melt festival.  

With an expansive career to date, Luke has also received various sync successes with companies such as BT Sport, Wateraid, Ubisoft, ASOS, Fila and McDonald’s. More recently, Luke has been attending various songwriting and network events, including Writing Retreat Asia in Thailand. 

Focussing on 2023, Luke has launched a brand-new creative endeavour called Wingbeats. This takes inspiration from artists such Bad Bad Not Good, Jaga Jazzist and the Cinematic Orchestra to create beat driven dystopian jazz, layered with intricate synth, big bass lines and hypnotic beats.
