US based duo Haver initially started as a half baked strategy meeting to open a beach inspired nick nack shop. After an hour pontificating on dad hats and neon signs, the duo quickly pivoted into something they actually had experience doing: making music.
While Haver actually met years prior at a local watering hole, the connection was really made while unexpectedly sharing time together travelling the US in support of a touring project. The miles shared on planes, trains and automobiles cemented their friendship while fostering a shared love and longing for an aesthetic that so many of us love – a future focused nostalgia.
A duet on paper, Haver takes pride in making sounds that are much larger then its size, employing tape aged pianos, parlor guitars and dusty forgotten synthesisers found in inventory closets. In addition, relationships made on the road occasionally present themselves in cameos on some pieces, adding to the warmth and glow of Haver’s longing yet optimistic sonicscape.
