We are pleased to announce that Welsh four-piece band Rainbow Maniac has joined Anara Publishing roster!
Rainbow Maniac is a heavy guitar driven band present on Cardiff’s musical scene since 2017. In their tracks, the band is combining rock’n’roll with elements of alt and indie rock, driving their influences from the 90s classics. Their whimsical, enigmatic lyrics and cultural references to the 90s will be appreciated by the fans of The Rolling Stones and The Libertines.
The band members describe their style as a British indie rock and roll that they express with their rainbow logo and cool eccentric looks. Their tracks are filled with noise and power intensified by the strong, psychedelic sound of the electric guitar and charismatic but relaxed vocals.
The band’s main lyricist, Conor Latcham, touches the topics of confusion and concerns of young adults growing up in the world affected by consumptionism and ubiquitous internet access. Despite that, the band is not afraid to write about romance and heartbreak but they do it in a fashionable way, with a pinch of irony.
Deborah Smith, Director of Anara Publishing, said of the signing ““We first came across Rainbow Maniac at this year’s The Great Escape festival and were instantly drawn to Conor’s thought provoking, storytelling style of songwriting. Paired with driving, alt rock rhythms, Rainbow Maniac are an artist to watch in 2019. We’re excited to work with Conor as he develops as a songwriter and to promote their music to our network around the world”.
The Anara Publishing team is looking forward to Rainbow Maniac’s upcoming debut album, kept in the same raw, bittersweet style that is often compared to the sounds of Pulp and The Coral. We are amazed by the energy expressed by the band in the vigorous tracks from their first EP. Our team is excited to explore sync opportunities for the band and represent their enigmatic track called “Uma Thurman”, blending disco, old-fashioned rock’n’roll sound and slightly provoking lyrics.
